Nat King Cole Society Jazz Festival
Gates open at 3 p.m., and it’s “horns in the air” at 4 p.m. The Festival will be preceded by a jazz brunch cruise on the Harriott II Riverboat at 10:30 a.m. The event is sponsored by Alabama State University’s Division of Continuing Education, the Montgomery County Commission and McDonald’s.
Festival artists include Lindsey Webster, Flutist Kim Scott, Saxophonist Vann Burchfield and Blues artist Guitar Slim.
The Festival also will include a variety of food and other vendors as well as fun activities for children. Tickets are $20 for adults for the festival or the cruise, or $35 for both. Tickets are $5 for children 12 and under and are available only at the gate. VIP tent is $180 (includes 6 tickets, access to VIP Lounge and refreshments).
Area Festival ticket outlets include Heritage Barber Shop, Ted the Wine Guy, and Filet & Vine. Cruise or combo tickets are available at WVAS Radio Station only, and online sales are available at www.alasu.edu/labordayclassic.
