After School Art II (ages 10 to 14)

More advanced art techniques and principles of design will be explored in this weekly class for upper elementary and junior high students. Studying paintings, prints, and sculptures in the Museum by well-known artists, students will learn to improve their own two-dimensional and three-dimensional artwork. Lessons include a variety of art materials and techniques: sculpting with clay, carving plaster; painting with acrylics, gouache and watercolors; drawing with charcoal, graphite, ink, oil and chalk pastels; monotype and silk-screen printmaking. Class size is limited to 10 students.
