ZOO WEEKEND DATE ANNOUNCED: APRIL 2 – 3

 

 JOIN US FOR THE MONTGOMERY ZOO’S 35th ANNUAL ZOO WEEKEND APRIL 2 – 3, 2011. Mark your calendar today to make plans to visit the Montgomery Zoo April 2 – 3, 2011, for the 35th Annual Zoo Weekend.  Watch as the Montgomery Zoo is transformed into a festive environment filled with wildlife adventure and fun.  Roam through the Zoo’s five continental realms seeing exotic animals from around the globe.  Enjoy games and rides while winning prizes and treats.  Enjoy a ride on a camel or pony.  Enter a petting zoo area and feed the animals.  See live entertainment including music, dance teams, shows from Ronald McDonald, and karate and MPD Canine unit demonstrations.  Be thrilled by the Montgomery Zoo’s Education Department animal presentations.  Snack on some of the finest concessions in town.  Venture through the Zoo on a train ride or take in the sun on a relaxing pedal boat ride on the lakefront.  And whatever you do, don’t forget to check out the Giraffe Encounter Post where you can stand nose-to-nose with an 18 foot giraffe while giving him a snack.  Get your picture taken with the giraffes for a memory that will last a lifetime.  Zoo Weekend is a fundraiser, allowing the Zoo to continue to expand and grow for the citizens of the River Region.     

 

Mark the calendar for April 2 – 3, 9:00am – 6:00pm.The Montgomery Zoo’s Zoo Weekend is a River Region tradition and a welcoming to spring.  Great for the family and kids of all ages.  Also, it is an ideal time to take advantage of membership discounts and become a Montgomery Zoo member.  Membership allows you access to daytime admission 362 days a year, gift shop and concessions discounts, discounted admission to over 150 US Zoos and Aquariums, and much more.  Memberships start as low as $35 per year (discounted for Zoo Weekend only).

MONTGOMERY ZOO INFO.  During Zoo Weekend the Montgomery Zoo is open 9:00am – 6:00pm. Combo admission to the Zoo and Mann Museum is: Adults $14, Children (3-12yrs) $10, Toddlers (2yrs and younger) FREE.  Zoo only admission is: Adults $10, Seniors (65 yrs and older) $9, Children (3-12yrs) $7, Toddlers (2yrs and younger) FREE.  Montgomery Zoo members are FREE.  Train ride: $3 per person. Giraffe Encounter: $2 per person. Pedal Boats: $8 for the first person, $10 for two, $12 for three and $14 for four; maximum of four passengers per boat, 30 minute ride.
