trivago Reveals 17 Best Value Destinations for 2017
Is there anything travelers love more than a bargain? From last-minute flight deals to 50 percent off hotels, vacationers go wild for a budget-friendly trip. That’s why trivago.com is ecstatic to announce the 17 Best Value Destinations of 2017.
Determined by an exclusive algorithm that considers both hotel prices and guest reviews, the 17 destinations that top the list aren’t only easy on the wallet but also offer entertainment options for nearly every type of traveler.
Looking for something a bit different? We scoured the year’s Top 50 Best Value Destinations list to help those looking for new spots to celebrate Black History Month, the kids going back to school, the craft beer boom (with a spin), and the South’s growing popularity with “gaycations.” Not to mention, we’ve also included the “best value” hotels in the U.S. for 2017 for a little extra tripspiration.

|8||Lake George||New York||88.27|
*The Best Value Index ranks cities based on a combination of consumer ratings and average hotel prices, with 100% being a perfect score. Only destinations with at least 50 hotels and a minimum average of 150 user ratings per hotel were considered in this index. Click here to see the complete list of the Best Value Destinations.
Black History Month
Black History Month is just around the corner, so we jotted down the Best Value Cities significant to African-American History. The Rosa Parks Library and Museum helped catapult Montgomery, Alabama to the top with Macon, Georgia following right behind – home of the Tubman Museum, which hosts the Tubman Pan African Festival in April.
Beers & Bikes
There are no shortage of lists for “best beer cities” and “best bike cities,” so we’ve put both of these peas into the same pod to create a Best Value Cities for Craft Beer and Cycling. Lincoln, Nebraska impresses with a 164-mile trail system and the year-old N Street Cycle Track through downtown, where, incidentally, you’ll find 11 of the city’s craft breweries and brewpups.

The most obvious choice is to head to the beach ASAP. For that there’s nowhere more accommodating than St. Augustine, Florida, home to 40 miles of scenic, unspoiled beaches as well as the “Oldest City in the U.S.”

Best Value Hotels
Similar to how we calculated the Best Value Destinations, we also collected the thousands-upon-thousands of hotel ratings and reviews left by travelers to determine which hotels in the U.S. offer the best bang for your buck. Hampton Inn was created precisely for these value-minded travelers, so it’s no surprise that their Inn & Suites in Denison, Texas came out on top. Guests here rave about the hotel’s cleanliness and absolutely adore the complimentary breakfast and coffee. If you’re looking for overall value and amenities that impress trivago users, add the Hampton Inn and these favorite hotels to your list!
