MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Sept. 27, 2010 – The New South Restaurant Group recently announced the opening of Village Kitchen, a new neighborhood restaurant at The Atlantic and Pacific Development, on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010. Nestled in the heart of historic Cloverdale Village, Village Kitchen will feature a menu reminiscent of traditional, southern favorites with a fresh, modern twist – all within an inviting, energy-packed atmosphere.
Open seven days a week for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch, Village Kitchen focuses on familiar, flavorful comfort foods of the New South with an array of signature soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, entrees and desserts. An authentic menu based on seasonal and house-made ingredients melded with snappy service, stylish décor by Ashley Gilbreath Interior Design and a casually sophisticated atmosphere give this neighborhood restaurant a fresh and funky flair all its own.
“Village Kitchen will be a place where family and friends can join together for a casual, yet exciting dining experience of New South cooking unlike any other,” said Marion Saxon, general manager of the New South Restaurant Group. “With its convenient location in Old Cloverdale’s popular A&P Development, Village Kitchen offers a new, much-needed gathering place for lunch, dinner, drinks or Sunday brunch in the River Region.”
Village Kitchen is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m., dinner Monday through Saturday starting at 5 p.m. and Sunday for brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The extensive menu changes seasonally with a variety of flavorful favorites ranging from Roasted Tomato Bisque or The E.A.T. (Egg, Avocado and Tomato) Sandwich, to the Wood-Grilled Fish-of-the-Day and Stone Ground Cheddar Grits. Patrons looking to satisfy their sweet tooth indulge in Alabama Pecan Pie, Bread Pudding or a selection of Homemade Cakes and Pies, while the comfort food inspired Sunday Brunch features everything from Fillet Benedict to a mix-it-yourself Bloody Mary Bar.
“Food will always remain an integral ingredient in Southern culture, especially in a region with an agricultural heritage as rich as Montgomery’s,” said Kristin Pole, chef of Village Kitchen. “Our team is dedicated to embracing this culture with authentic, seasonal fare that is both nostalgic and inventive at the same time.”
