hot spots to cool off in mgm

Posted on Saturday, October 13, 2012 | Posted in: Events Around Town, A Taste of Montgomery, Worth Checking Out,

Are you looking for somewhere to cool off after a hot day at work?  Or even just after an average day at work?  Consider some of Montgomery’s local nightlife and entertainment venues.

Just steps outside the Montgomery Convention Center is the newest entertainment district known as The Alley.

Out of old warehouses grew a vibrant, energetic district that livens the night with bars that offer live music, restaurants, unique meeting venues a frozen shot room and a rooftop garden.  You can find cuisine from twists on southern fare, Italian, barbeque, Tex-Mex and even a Delicatessen.    On the near outskirts  and walking distance from The Alley you can find even more entertainment including a world-class AA Baseball stadium, home to the Montgomery Biscuits, as well as a brand new brewery, seafood and Thai dinner options, and an outdoor bar and patio that offers a great happy hour and live music.  The Montgomery Performing Arts Centre and the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts are nothing short of awesome, too.

Travel east of downtown Montgomery and you’ll encounter several other hot spots to chill after work or for just a night out with your friends.  Don’t pass up Old Cloverdale that offers unique and fine dining options sure to appease your appetite and pubs, bars and a jazz club that will satisfy your thirst and ring music to your ears.

In East Montgomery, a vibrant shopping district is home to more local cuisine and nightlife entertainment at the Shoppes at EastChase.  And, just a few miles south of the shopping district is the newest live-work community, Hampstead, which offers fine and casual dining, live entertainment and fun for the whole family.

No matter what area of Montgomery you visit, you’re sure to run into something fun! To learn about the local restaurants and bars mentioned, see
