A Morning for Anne Goldthwaite
Join us as we celebrate one of Alabama's most accomplished painter/printmakers, Anne Goldthwaite (1869–1944). Writer May Lamar, who is working on a fictional biography of Anne and her family, will give insight into her life in Alabama, New York, and France, where she studied art at the beginning of the twentieth century. The group will also hear historian Mary Ann Neeley discuss the significance of the locations in and around Montgomery depicted in Goldthwaite's work. Finally, curators Margaret Lynne Ausfeld and Alice Novak will accompany guests into the permanent collection exhibition now on view, Going Home: Paintings by Anne Goldthwaite (through November 6) to share thoughts on her prints, paintings, and sculptures. Light refreshments will be served.
For reservations, please call Brandy Morrison at 334-240-4365.
