Earth Day Safari at the Montgomery Zoo
School teachers, students, recreational advisors, science classes, and environmentally-friendly people of all kinds make plans to join us at the Montgomery Zoo and celebrate our planet while learning how each of us play a vital role in our environment and the earth’s wildlife.
Earth Day Safari is an event designed with elementary-aged school groups in mind. Students and teachers roam the zoo exploring realm after realm collecting valuable information using a fun and educational Earth Day Scavenger Hunt. As they answer questions, their passport is stamped at five different realm stations earning points to win a prize when completed. Along the way, students are encouraged to play various games teaching them how they too play an important role in our planet’s survival and ecological state. Students learn the importance of recycling, preservation and conservation.
While attending Earth Day Safari, guests will be treated to a unique learning experiences with some of our animal care zookeepers. During designated times, guests will gather at specified exhibits and enjoy a keeper talk. The keepers will provide insightful information on the animals’ personalities, diets, and species facts. Also, it is an ideal time to ask questions to discover additional information about each of our animals at the Montgomery Zoo.
