Excellence in Writing Award Ceremony

Katherine Clark was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and raised in Birmingham. She earned her degree from Harvard, holds a Ph.D. from Emory in American Literature for her dissertation on William Faulkner. She is the co-author of two Alabama-based oral biographies,'The Mountain Brook series' including 'The Headmaster's Darlings' (2015 Willie Morris award for Southern Fiction). The series is being printed by Story River Books, an imprint founded by Pat Conroy at the University of South Carolina Press.

Katherine will be awarded with the Fitzgerald Museum's 2017 Excellence In Writing Award during the event in addition to a reading & book signing of the Mountain Brook series after the ceremony. A brief reception will be held after the awards ceremony & reading.

NewSouth Bookstore will be on-site with copies of the Mountain Brook series for purchase at the event.
