World Elephant Appreciation Day at the Montgomery Zoo

Join us at the Montgomery Zoo on September 25 for World Elephant Appreciation Day, Conservation Event. This day is actually celebrated throughout the world on September 22; however, at the Montgomery Zoo, we will be celebrating these beautiful creatures on a Saturday, so more people have the opportunity to enjoy this day with our herd of African elephants. This day is celebrated to raise awareness about elephant conservation, promote the protection of natural habitat of elephants (African and Asian) and support elephant conservation issues.

     > Location: Zoo’s Africa section at the Elephant exhibit

Swing by the Zoo’s Africa section at the Elephant exhibit during the hours of 10am – 2pm and visit with our team of Elephant keepers.  They will provide:
     -- Insightful tiger keeper talks and vital elephant information
     -- Tell guests about conservation efforts taking place at the Zoo and in the wild
     -- Let guests know what you can do to help
     -- Provide an opportunity to give to the elephant plight
     -- See genuine elephant artifacts 
     -- Collect elephant trading cards featuring Star, Tina, and Makena
     -- Collect elephant fact sheets featuring Star, Tina, and Makena
     -- Collect elephant coloring pages
     -- Gain valuable information through various conservation publications
     -- Pose for social media pics
     -- View a collection of elephant images
     -- View elephant paintings
     -- Visit with Star, Tina, and Makena, our three African elephants
     -- DONATE TODAY TO SAVE ELEPHANTS
