Hampstead Farm to Fork Invasion is Back!

Friday, October 13, 2017

Annual Fundraiser brings great food, music, and innovative artwork together for a night to enjoy for all ages

WHAT: On Friday, October 26th, Hampstead will host its annual Farm-to-Fork Food Invasion. Beginning at 5:30PM at Hampstead Farm, approximately 250 guests will be treated to dinner by Guest “Invader” Saw’s BBQ of Birmingham, live music under the string lights, and an art show by Artist Becky Miller till 8PM – suitable for all ages. All proceeds benefit the educational and wellness programs of the Hampstead Institute a 501(c)3 non-profit entity, and this year’s beneficiary, The Montessori School at Hampstead. Previous Food Invasion chefs have included Alon Shaya (Domenica), Rob McDaniel (SpringHouse), Lisa White (Willa Jean), David Bancroft (Acre), Hillary White (The Hil at Serenbe), Scott Crawford (Crawford & Son), Wesley True (The Optimist), and most recently Anne Quatrano (Bacchanalia).

WHO: The focus of Saw’s BBQ is simple – good old Southern soul food. Pioneered by Mike Wilson, Saw’s has taken Birmingham by a smoky storm. First opening in a residential area of Homewood, the venue has expanded to three locations where they serve classic pulled pork, chicken smothered in a distinctive white sauce, and barbecue-topped baked potatoes. Dubbed an ‘upscale dive,’ this barbecue joint is one both family and friends will enjoy. Artist Becky Miller will unveil her exhibit, artifacts, using the red barn and the farm as an outdoor gallery. Miller’s work features large scale landscape pieces, often fabricated from artifacts and found objects from Hampstead and the natural surroundings. Live music by local Montgomery talent will keep the party going.
