Wind Creek Casino to presents the Food Truck Mash-Up At Riverwalk Stadium

A friendly competition is brewing this month as Wind Creek Casino hosts the annual Food Truck Mash-Up 2017, a celebration of the best food trucks in Alabama.  The Mash-Up will pit food trucks from Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Huntsville and Montgomery against each other.  Gather your foodie friends and get ready to feast on Friday, Nov. 24 as Riverwalk Stadium is turned into a smorgasbord of delicious delicacies and scrumptious snacks.

Specialty food trucks will serve up everything from Cajun to barbecue, and doughnuts to Italian ice. There will be inflatables including a 20-foot slide, giveaways, music, pictures with Santa and more. And, yes, you’ll be able to take a hot air balloon ride to get a unique view of the downtown skyline.

Montgomery Advertiser President Michael Galvin said plenty of people will be in the Montgomery area to stay with family for the Thanksgiving holiday or filling up local hotels for the Iron Bowl and Turkey Day Classic. “It’s a chance to show off our downtown to people who are visiting who maybe haven’t been here in years,” Galvin said.

Similar festivals organized by USA Today Network Events have drawn thousands of people.

Because of the college games that weekend, people are encouraged to wear team jerseys as they vote for their favorite food truck at Montgomery's Mash-up.

The Food Truck Mash-Up has been made possible thanks to key sponsorship by Auburn University at Montgomery and Baptist Health Services. Military personnel will receive free admittance thanks to Bama Bud.

The event has partnered with the Montgomery Area YMCA to help support their Brown Bag Bus lunch program.

Alabama’s first Food Truck Mash-up will be 3-8 p.m. Nov. 24, and tickets are now on sale. They’re $5, or $15 for a four-pack. Kids younger than 5 get in free.
